Core to null sov v2.0 must be to tie ISK generation directly into continued alliance-level conflict. I proposed one way to do this (home systems & ISK buffs based on systems held), but thats not the only way...
As long as CCP gets that one thing right, tying ISK generation into alliance level conflict, they will REALLY have something here.

What if these jump changes are the first step in several, including tying ISK generation into system ownership?
I can totally see a smaller alliance going out to a fringe system, declaring it as home, and starting war on neighbors if it buffs their ISK generation. I can also see said home systems being the only systems to allow building of 'super gates', to lands of ISK milk and honey perhaps.... Or imagine said smaller alliance nibbling on the edges of neighboring large alliance systems because that large bloc has overreached its ability to defend all its borders without ridiculous power projection...
If the next moves on this chess board are along those lines, CCP could really have something here.

Normally I am the last person to beg patience with CCP, etc. But, weren't they very clear this is just an opening move in a chess game to that end?
Step 1: Reduce power projection (The stick)
Then...
Step 2: Inspire alliance-level conflict by.......(The candy to fight over)
Then..
Step 3: Super gates to Elysium!...(MOAR candy to fight over!)
Or was I injecting my own hopes into my read of the dev blog?

Remove jump drives entirely, make all the things go through gates. No more crazy jump-fatigue math and timers. Done.
(Except jump freighters, rorquals and perhaps BLOPS..)

Agree. People in this thread seem fixated on the opening move by CCP in this game of fix-null chess...
What if the next moves are things like this. 2 out of 6 done so far...
